About the Teacher

Know More about the Course

Samskrita Bodhini - 3 and Mritasanjivanam are prescribed for Paper 1 of Level 3 (Vichakshana exam) in the Chittoor Board.

Samskrita Bhasha Pracharini Sabha, Chittoor was established in 1945 for the cause of Samskrita Prachara by a few veteran scholars, with Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh as its centre. This is one of the oldest Samskrita Sabha-s in India, and the Chittoor exam series is held in high esteem by scholars for its depth and comprehensiveness.

A key feature of the Chittoor exam syllabus is the introduction of Samskrita kavya-s right from the first level. All the genres of literature such as Padya, Gadya, Champu, Nataka, etc are covered in the syllabus in a graded manner, giving students exposure to authentic usage of Samskrita language by various poets of yore.

The syllabus also introduces elective Shastra-s at Level 5 and Level 6. Students can choose from 9 shastra options including Alankara, Vyakarana, Tarka, Mimamsa, Vedanta, Jyotisha, Ayurveda, Dharmashastra and Purana.

6 exams are conducted by the Chittoor Sabha.

  • Level 1 - Parichaya (1 paper - 100 marks)
  • Level 2 - Abhijna (2 papers - 200 marks)
  • Level 3 - Vicakshana (3 papers - 300 marks)
  • Level 4 - Samartha (4 papers - 400 marks)
  • Level 5 - Kovida (5 papers - 500 marks)
  • Level 6 - Vidyabhushana (6 papers - 600 marks)

No. This course is designed for any student of Sanskrit at an intermediate level—whether learning in a formal or informal setting—who wishes to deepen their understanding of Nataka while strengthening applied grammar skills. After a couple of years of study, many learners find grammar concepts challenging and feel overwhelmed when approaching original texts.

The course is aligned with the syllabus of Level 3 Paper 1 of the Chittoor Exam Series. One of Vyoma’s key missions is to provide support for exams conducted by various Sabha-s such as the Chittoor Sabha, Surasaraswathi Sabha, etc. In line with this mission, the course will offer extensive support to students preparing for the Chittoor exams. However, even those not appearing for these exams are welcome to join and benefit from the blend of literature appreciation and applied grammar learning.

PDF of scanned textbooks, and typed versions wherever available, are provided in the portal for download. Those who want to purchase hard copies, please contact Chittoor Sabha. (Please note that many of the textbooks are out of print, so it is highly recommended to take a print out of the scanned or typed versions provided in the portal)
