Pravesha - Preparatory course for Level 1 of Samskrita Bharati exams
Pravesha is the first level of exams in the Patralayadvara Samskritam series of Samskrita Bharati. This course covers the prescribed syllabus for Pravesha, with a special focus on the basic concepts of Sanskrit. The course introduces aspirants to the foundational aspects of Sanskrit grammar including Varnamala (the Sanskrit Alphabet), nouns, verbs, pronouns, sentence construction and the like. Basic sentence construction, subhashitas (wise sayings), shlokas (verses), prahelikas (riddles), noun forms, verb forms, simple stories in Sanskrit, etc. will also be covered.

- As when the class progresses, the medium of instruction adopted may be Sanskrit. Exposure to Spoken Sanskrit Shibirams of Samskrita Bharati will be an advantage.

- Please note that the Pravesha text book will not be provided in this course. The text book has to be procured directly from Samskrita Bharati.
- Please note that Samskrita Bharati might have minimum age criteria to take up Pravesha exam. The criteria may be different in different regions. Please contact your nearest Samskrita Bharati center for information regarding this.
- Registration for the exam must be done by the learners independently at the nearest Samskrita Bharati center. Vyoma is NOT authorised to either register students for the exam or conduct the examinations. This course is a seva-karya to support the preparation activity of the students who wish to take up the examination.

Samskrita Bharati is one of the premier organisations which has brought about a revolution in the world of Sanskrit through its Spoken Sanskrit camps and Sanskrit Through Sanskrit (STS) methodology. It has helped the spread of Sarala-Samskritam across the globe. It offers correspondence courses in four levels (Patrachara Samskritam). Exams are conducted twice a year. This course aims to help the students who are preparing for the first level (Pravesha).
Syllabus follows the prescribed textbook for Patrachara Samskritam Level 1.
Note – Students will have to register for the examination on their own, at any Samskrita Bharati center close to them. On registration, they will receive printed study materials for the course, which they are expected to have with them while attending this course. Interested students may visit the Samskrita Bharati websites for more information regarding the courses and registration -
Vyoma Samskrita Pathashala is conducting this course purely to facilitate study for Pravesha of Samskrita Bharati, and has no role to play in either registration or conducting the examinations.
Lessons will be thought by Smt. Brunda Karanam in the class held on Sundays. Exercises for these lessons shall be discussed by Smt. Sudha Srikant in the class held on Saturday. Students are expected to work out the exercises and come prepared with answers for the Exercise discussion session.
There is no certificate offered currently for this course by Vyoma.
