Dhvanyaloka is the treatise that establishes the Dhvani theory written by Anandavardhana. He is a native of Kashmir and had the title of Raajaanaka. He was an expert in Sanskrit and Prakrit languages. He has authored many works. They are Dhvanyaloka – lakshana grantha, Arjunacharitam – a mahakavya, Tattvaloka –a philosophical treatise, Vishama Bhaana Leela, Dharmottara-vivrutti Buddhist doctrine; and a poem called Devi shatakam. Only Devi shatakam and Dhvanyaloka are available now. Dhvanyaloka is divided into four chapters called Uddyotas.
This course covers the 4th chapter of Dhvanyaloka.
