Dhvanyaloka is the treatise that establishes the Dhvani theory written by Anandavardhana. He is a native of Kashmir and had the title of Raajaanaka. He was an expert in Sanskrit and Prakrit languages. He has authored many works. They are Dhvanyaaloka – lakshana grantha, Arjunacharitam – a mahaakavya, Tattvaloka –a philosophical treatise, Vishama Bhaana Leela, Dharmottartvivrti–a Buddhist doctrine; and a poem called Devi shatakam. Only Devi shatakam and Dhvanyaloka are available now. Dhvanyaloka is divided into four Chapters called as Uddyotas.
This course covers the 1st and 2nd chapters of Dhvanyaloka.
