Visalakshi Sankaran explains the 3rd Uddyota in Tamil. The 3rd Uddyota covers the factors involved in vyanjakatva of pada and vaakya, importance of auchitya, concepts of guneebhoota vyangya and chitra kaavya.

Dhvanyaloka is the treatise that establishes the Dhvani theory written by Anandavardhana. He is a native of Kashmir and had the title of Rajanaka. He was an expert in Sanskrit and Prakrit languages. He has authored many works. They are Dhvanyaloka – Lakshanagrantha, Arjunacharitam – a mahakavya, Tattvaloka – a philosophical treatise, Vishama Bhana Leela, Dharmottartvivrti–a Buddhist doctrine; and a poem called Devi shatakam. Only Devi shatakam and Dhvanyaloka are available now. Dhvanyaloka is divided into four Chapters, those are called as Uddyotas.
This course covers the 3rd Uddyota of Dhvanyaloka.

व्यङ्‍ग्य-व्यञ्जकयोर्याथातथ्येन स्वरूपविवेकः ।
