Understanding the Pramana-s of Nyayashastra
Pramana refers to an instrument / means of gaining valid knowledge. Pramana is the foundation of any authoritative knowledge, and different darshana-s accept different Pramana-s as the basis of their principles and conclusions. The study of any shastra relies on a thorough understanding of the Pramana-s accepted and used in that shastra. Nyayashastra accepts 4 Pramana-s, namely Pratyaksha (Direct Perception), Anumana (Inference), Upamana (analogy) and Shabda (Verbal Testimony). In this course, Dr. Sathyanarayana teaches these 4 Pramana-s in detail, with special focus on Anumana, which occupies a predominant position in Nyaya.

What are the prerequisites to get the best out of this course?
(Eligibility)
- Learners must be able to understand and speak in Sanskrit.
- Learners who have passed the final course assessment of the course Learn the Style of Navya Nyaya (either in Live or Pre-recorded batch) are directly eligible to attend this course. These learners have already been added to the batch.
- If any learner has NOT ATTENDED the above course or NOT COMPLETED THE FINAL ASSESSMENT, they need to pass an Entrance Test to gain admission to Live Classes of this course. To attend the entrance test, they must have a good grounding in Sanskrit, and have passed one of the examinations listed.

- Please Click here to register for the Entrance Test.
- The Entrance Test will be an Online Test with 50 Multiple Choice Questions, covering the topics delivered in the Foundations of Tarkashastra and Learn the Style of Navya Nyaya course.
- You will receive the Link to attempt the Entrance Test on June 14, 2024 at 6 PM IST. The Test will be open till June 16 2024, 6 PM IST. You can attempt the Entrance Test at any time of your choice in this duration.
- Cut-off marks for entry to the course is 30(out of a maximum of 50 marks).If you score the minimum marks, you will be admitted to the Live Sessions of the Pramana Parichaya Course.
- After this, you will be able to attend the Live Classes and access all materials from your learning dashboard.
