Charana-Shrnga-Rahita Nataraja Stotram is a set of 10 shloka-s composed by Maharshi Patanjali. This is a unique stotram which does not comprise of Deergha svaras. Deergha svaras are represented with a ‘paada’ or a ‘shrnga’ in writing. Hence the name charana-shrnga-rahita. It is said that Lord Shiva joyously danced to this perfectly rythmic stotram and graced Maharshi Patanjali. In this course, Kum. Sriprada Indrankanti, will teach all the 10 shlokas with authentic pronunciation.

Charana-Shrnga-rahita Nataraja Stotram has been composed by Patanjali Maharshi. The story of this text is that Nandi refused to let Patanjali have darshan of Lord Shiva. Patanjali, the master of grammatical forms, spontaneously composed this poem in praise of Lord Shiva in a way totally devoid of Deergha svaras. It was in a way to tease Nandi who has horns and legs. Patanjali (being a snake) didn’t possess either of them (by saying “Charana Shrnga Rahita Nataraja Stotram”, it also implicitly conveys “Patanjali’s Nataraja Stotram”). Pleased, Shiva came out of the inner sanctum and joyously danced to this stotram.
