श्रीरामचरितमानस वाल्मीकि रामायण पर आधारित महाकाव्य है जिसकी रचना 16 वीं शताब्दी में गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी ने की।अवधि बोली में रचित यह ग्रन्थ तुलसी रामायण के नाम से जाना जाता है और अगणित भारतीय घरों में प्रतिदिन भक्ति-भाव से गाया जाता है। वाल्मीकि रामायण की भाँति यह महाकाव्य सात सोपानों में रचा गया है। इस कार्यक्रम में श्रीमती उमा शर्मा के साथ श्रीरामचरितमानस से सुन्दरकाण्ड की कथा के पठन - श्रवण - भाव गायन - अर्थ विवेचन का भरपूर आनन्द उठायें। Sriramcharitmanas is a 16th century mahakavya by Goswami Tulsidas, based on the Valmiki Ramayana. Written in Awadhi, it is popularly known as Tulsi Ramayan, and is chanted daily in countless households across Bharata. Comprising 7 cantos, it mirrors the structure of Valmiki's Ramayana. In this course, Smt. Uma Sharma brings out the story of Sundarakanda (Sriramcharitmanas) in rich flavours.

गोस्वामी तुलसीदास एक प्रेरक सन्त कवि, विचारक के रूप में भक्ति साहित्य और अध्यात्म में अपना महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देने के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। उनका जन्म 1532 में उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ। तुलसी ने रामायण कथा को अपनी महान कृति रामचरितमानस महाकाव्य के रूप में हिन्दी भाषा की एक बोली अवधि में लिखने के लिए ख्याति प्राप्त की।श्रीरामचरितमानस अपने काव्य-सौष्ठव, गहन आध्यात्मिक पैठ और सांस्कृतिक प्रभाव के कारण जन-मानस में अत्यन्त लोकप्रिय है। हनुमान चालीसा तुलसी की सबसे लोकप्रिय रचनाओं में से है, जिसे लाखों लोगों द्वारा प्रतिदिन गाया जाता है। वाल्मीकि रामायण की तरह से श्रीरामचरितमानस भी सात काण्डों में विभक्त है, जैसे - बालकाण्ड, अयोध्या काण्ड, अरण्यकाण्ड, किष्किन्धाकाण्ड, सुन्दरकाण्ड, लंकाकाण्ड और उत्तरकाण्ड। सुन्दरकाण्ड श्रीरामचरित मानस का पंचम भाग है और इसका इस महाकाव्य में अत्यन्त विशिष्ट स्थान है। इसमें मुख्य रूप से हनुमान जी द्वारा जनकनन्दिनी सीता की खोज के लिए की गयी लंका यात्रा का वर्णन किया गया है और इस अभियान के अन्तर्गत हुए उनके साहसिक कृत्यों और मुठभेड़ों का वर्णन किया गया है।
Goswami Tulsidas was an inspirational saint, poet, and philosopher renowned for his profound contributions to literature and spirituality. He was born in 1532 in Uttar Pradesh. He is best known for his magnum opus, the “Sriramcharitmanas," a retelling of the Ramayana in the Awadhi dialect of Hindi. The Ramcharitmanas is extremely popular among the masses and is celebrated for its poetic brilliance, spiritual depth, and cultural impact. Apart from the Ramcharitmanas, Tulsidas composed numerous other works, including devotional stotra-s, philosophical treatises, and commentaries. Hanuman Chalisa is one of his most popular compositions, chanted daily by millions of devotees. Like the Valmiki Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas is divided into 7 sections or kandas, called the Balakanda, Ayodhyakanda, Aranyakanda, Kishkindhakanda, Sundarakanda, Lankakanda and Uttarakanda. The Sundarakanda is the fifth section of the Ramcharitmanas, and it occupies a significant place in the epic poem. It primarily focuses on the journey of Hanuman to Lanka in search of Sita, and is filled with beautiful descriptions of Hanuman's heroic deeds and his encounters during his mission.
