What are the pre-requisites to get the best out of this course? (Eligibility)

  • Ability to understand Kannada.
  • A background in Vedanta, Vyakarana and other shastras would be helpful in appreciating the subtle points mentioned during the classes.
  • Good knowledge of Sanskrit language and grammar, at the level of Chittoor - Samartha / Samskrita Bharati – Kovida is preferable
  • Knowledge of the first and second Skandha of Srimad Bhagavatam is required.

The canto's intial chapters deal with the conversation between Vidura and Maitreya, laden with wisdom and profund knowledge.
The canto is also famous for its exposition of time measurement.
Further, in the canto, the curses to the dwarapalaka of Bhagavan and how the same leads to different mainfestations
This Skandha also consists of Kapilopakhyana, the puranic insight into sankhya philosophy.
