Sri Venkateshwara Suprabhatam is a very powerful set of Stotras, chanted for an ideal, blessed beginning to the day. These stotras, composed by Prativadi Bhayankara Sri Anantacharya, also famous as Prativadi Bhayankara Annan, are highly venerated, and most suitable for daily Parayanam every morning. In this course, Smt. Brunda Karanam helps the devotees learn a pleasing style of chanting the Stotras with bhakti (devotion) and spashtataa (clear, authentic pronunciation retaining the correct meaning of words).

Shri Venkateshvara Suprabhatam is recited in Tirumala temple every morning when the temple opens in the brahmi muhurta. This was penned by Prativadi-bhayankara Shri Ananthacharya (also known as Annangaracharyar and P. B. Annan). The time is believed to be around 1430 A.D. Swami Manavala Mamuni was the poet’s guru. Same kavi also composed Sri Ranganatha Suprabhatam. This idea of suprabhata, awakening of God, is based on a verse (1.23.2) from the Balakanḍa of Ramayana by Valmiki, where Vishvamitra awakened Rama to carry on his daily activities.
कौसल्यासुप्रजा राम पूर्वा सन्ध्या प्रवर्तते ।
उत्तिष्ठ नरशार्दूल कर्त्तव्यं दैवमाह्निकम् ॥
O good son of Kausalya, it is morning sandhya time. Get up, O best among the men, and do your day-wise duties.
Daily Parayanam of Shri Venkateshvara Suprabhatam in the mornings in the brahmi muhurta was a ritual followed by many families even a couple of generations ago. If not so early, atleast even after the sunrise is good. If not daily, at least weekly parayana on every Saturday is known to be a highly beneficial activity for individuals and family as a whole.
