Paramalaghumanjusha is one of the basic texts in the arthika / darshanika tradition of Paniniya Vyakarana, which gives an idea of all the key concepts like Sphota, Shakti-Lakshana-Vyanjana, Dhatvartha-Akhyatartha-Nipatartha-Namartha, etc. This text is included in the syllabus of almost all universities which offer specialisation in Vyakarana shastra at the post-graduate level. First half of the text including Sphota, Shakti, Lakshana, Vyanjana, Shabdabodha-sahakari-karanas (Akanksha- Yogyata - Asatti - Tatparya) have been covered in the course with line-by-line sanskrit explanation.

Aarthika texts are वाक्यपदीय, वैयाकरणभूषणसार, लघुमञ्जूषा. These texts focus on the interpretation of words and sentences, based upon the learned discussions on that subject introduced in the Mahabhashya, Vakyapadiya and Pradipa etc.
Nagesha Bhatta a great renowned scholar of Paninian vyakarana and other shastras, wrote an independent work on the meaning of words and their interpretations which is known as वैयाकरणसिद्धान्तलघुमञ्जूषा. He himself has also written a book namely परमलघुमञ्जूषा which is a short extract of previous book. There are different opinions regarding the writer of Pramalaghumanjusha as the conclusion on the same concept discussed in the both texts slightly vary from one another. Paramalaghumanjusha is the text which is taught in this course.
