श्री हनुमान चालीसा स्तोत्र श्रीरामजी के अनन्य भक्त हनुमानजी की गाथा गुणगान करने वाला अवधि भाषा का एक लघु काव्य है जिसकी रचना गोस्वामी तुलसीदासजी ने की थी। ४० पंक्तियों की इस छंदोबद्ध रचना का जन्म मुगल शासक अकबर के कारागृह में हुआ । इन में से कुछ पंक्तियाँ हनुमानजी के जीवन और कृत्यों का वर्णन करती हैं तो कुछ में उनकी श्रीराम के प्रति भक्ति को दर्शाया गया है। इस कोर्स में श्रीमती उमा शर्मा श्री हनुमान चालीसा के वाचन, सरलार्थ और उसमें निहित हनुमत् कथा प्रसंगों से अवगत कराएंगी।
Sri Hanuman Chalisa is a brief Stotra composed in Awadhi by Goswami Tulsidas that brings out the deeds and qualities of the unmatched Rama-Bhakta, i.e., Sri Hanuman. Consisting of 40 verses, Sri Hanuman Chalisa was composed in the prison of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Some verses describe Sri Hanuman’s life and his feats, while others describe his Bhakti towards Sri Rama. In this course, Smt. Uma Sharma teaches the verses of Sri Hanuman Chalisa and the stories contained in it, with meaning in Hindi.

गोस्वामी तुलसीदास एक प्रेरक सन्त, कवि और विचारक के रूप में भक्ति साहित्य और अध्यात्म में अपना महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देने के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। उनका जन्म 1532 में उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ। तुलसी ने रामायण कथा को अपनी महान कृति श्रीरामचरितमानस महाकाव्य के रूप में हिन्दी भाषा की एक बोली अवधि में लिखने के लिए ख्याति प्राप्त की। श्री हनुमान चालीसा गोस्वामी तुलसीदास द्वारा अवधि में रचित एक भक्तिपूर्ण काव्यात्मक अभिव्यक्ति है, जिसमें श्री-रामभक्त-हनुमान के गुणों एवं कार्यों का चालीस छन्दों में वर्णन है | श्री हनुमान चालीसा के छन्द पवनपुत्र के बचपन, जीवन, उनकी शक्ति-सामर्थ्य और गुणों, और भगवान राम के प्रति उनकी भक्ति के विषय में हैं, जिनसे रामायण में उनकी भूमिका का ज्ञान होता है | श्री हनुमान चालीसा हनुमत् भक्तों के लिए साहस-बल-पराक्रम का स्रोत है, निर्भयता का वरदान है और एक सुदृढ़ सुरक्षा कवच है। शनिवार के दिन श्री हनुमान चालीसा के पाठ का विशेष महत्व है। मान्यता है कि हनुमत् भक्तों पर शनिदेव भी कृपा बरसाते है। 
Goswami Tulsidas was an inspirational saint, poet, and philosopher renowned for his profound contributions to literature and spirituality. He was born in 1532 in Uttar Pradesh. He is best known for his magnum opus, the “Sriramcharitmanas," a retelling of the Ramayana in the Awadhi dialect of Hindi. Sri Hanuman Chalisa is a revered Bhakti-kavya dedicated to Sri-Rambhakta-Hanuman. It consists of forty verses (hence the name "Chalisa") and three dohas composed in Awadhi language. The verses of Sri Hanuman Chalisa praise the virtues, qualities, and exploits of Sri Hanuman, highlighting his devotion to Sri Rama and his role in the Ramayana. Sri Hanuman Chalisa is a source of courage, strength and valor, a boon of fearlessness, and a steadfast protective shield for devotees. Chanting Sri Hanuman Chalisa on Saturdays holds special significance. It is believed that Lord Shani also showers his blessings upon devotees of Sri Hanuman.
