Bhattoji Dikshita’s monumental work, Vaiyakarana Siddhanta Kaumudi, is one of the foundational texts of Vyakarana, where all the sutras of the Ashtadhyayi are discussed with explanation and examples. It is a reordering of the sutras of Ashtadhyayi to facilitate a student to pick up rupasiddhi (derivation of forms) easily. Kaumudi is also known for the exactness of its Vriitti-s (sutrartha), which distills the essence of Mahabhashya succinctly.

Ajanta Napumsakalinga prakarana of Siddhantakaumudi is taught in this course. 14 sutras of Ashtadhyayi and 3 vartikas are covered following the Siddhanta kaumudi text with reference to Balamanorama Commentary.
This prakarana sheds light on the forming of a neuter gender word from a vowel ending Praatipadika. Concepts like पुंवद्भाव and सर्वनामस्थान are also elaborated in this prakarana. Deals with some special Praatipadikaas and the process of forming Padas by joining Pratipadika and Sup-pratyayas. Modifications through which a Pratipadika should undergo to become a Pada is the main content of this course.
