Condensed by Mahamahopadhyaya Sri R V Krishnamachariar, it retains some of the best picturesque descriptions of the great poet, while also pruning out enough to ensure that the story moves at a faster pace. This prose piece contains the whole story of Kadambari concisely explained. The prose starts with Sudraka’s description, the visit of Chandala kanya, the past story of the parrot Vaishampayana, story of Tarapida, pain of his childlessness, birth of Chandrapida, attainment of his youth, Shukanasa’s instructions, Meeting of Mahashveta and Chandrapida, Mahashveta’s past life, Story of Pundarika and Mahashveta’s love, Birth of Kadambari and her story.
