About the text

Sahasranama is a Sanskrit term which means "a thousand names". As Vishnu is the deity of this stotra literature it is called Vishnu Sahasranama, where he is remembered by 1000 names, qualities or titles. It is said that Vishnu Sahasranama was taught by the great warrior Bhishma to Yudhishthira the eldest of Pancha Pandavas. This stotra is found in the 149th chapter that is Anushaasanika Parva of the Great Epic Mahabharatha.

What is the Syllabus?

Vishnu Sahasranama, the text of 108 verses, 22 verses of Dhyanashloka, and 25 verses of Phalashruti is taught in this course.
