Sri Rama Raksha Stotra is a powerful stotra composed by Rishi Budha Koushika. The main body of the stotra contains prayers to Bhagavan Srirama for protection of various organs of the body. 'Rama Raksha' literally means 'Srirama's protection'. Sri Rama Raksha Stotra is the most robust cure to all problems. It destroys all sins and grants all desires. The vocal energy generated after the recitation of Sri Rama Raksha Stotra is thought to create a protective shield around a person. In this course, Smt. Sowmya Nagaraj teaches the shlokas of Sri Rama Raksha Stotra, ensuring that devotees are able to chant it with correct pronunciation.

Sri Rama Raksha Stotra is a set of shlokas attributed to Rishi Budha Kaushika. Many devotees believe Budha Kaushika to be none other than Srirama's Guru Sage Vishvamitra. There is a verse in the Rama Raksha stotra itself, which states that Bhagavan Shiva appeared in Budha Kaushika's dream and taught the Rama Raksha Stotra.
The main body of the stotra consists of 7 verses which seek protection for various parts of the body, using different sacred names of Srirama. For eg., May Raghava (scion of the Raghus) protect the head, May Dasharathatmaja (son of Dasharatha) protect the forehead, May Kausalyeya (son of Kausalya) protect the eyes, etc.
These are preceded by a few Dhyana shlokas, and followed by Phalashruti shlokas which mention the benefits of chanting this stotra, which include

- Victory
- humility
- Protection from all evil forces
- Material and spiritual progress
- Freedom from sins
He who has memorised this all-conquering stotra has all the siddhis available in his hand and this stotra is like a hard, diamond armour which protects from all difficulties.
After the phalashruti shlokas, there are several verses describing Srirama and Lakshmana, and seeking their constant, all-round protection. In the end, the stotra includes several popular prayer verses on Srirama from other sources.
There are several versions of Sri Rama Raksha Stotra available in printed editions and in audio / video renditions. In preparing the script for this Stotra, the Linguistic Team at Vyoma has diligently referred to all these sources, using the Gita Press edition and Ramakrishna Math edition as the base version. Grammatically valid variants are also indicated for the verses.
